As a human that was born and raised in the States, grew up in Taiwan during my most formative years - I consider myself very much an American and also very Taiwanese. Working as a flight attendant for 9 years in Hong Kong opened up my eyes to the world beyond the borders I've lived. Marrying my British husband has also taught me how to deal with culture clashes and not be afraid to fight and speak up to resolve conflict. Lately I've returned to Taiwan to look after my mom who's been battling cancer for over 10 years. Yet it seems people still don't want to talk about it or the realities and possibilities of death. It's been an interesting journey and the topics of death and happiness has always interested me. I wanted to create a platform to discuss all the cultural nuances that surround death. Stories about grief and how different cultures deal with those emotions. If together we ask Death to "Run!" like Gump, maybe we can break out of our shells full speed ahead and find the rainbow on the other side.
